Central Rural Electric Cooperative had record attendance at its 82nd Annual Meeting held Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020. Drive-through voting occurred at four locations across the service area. Quorum was surpassed with 1,403 members in attendance. Stillwater had the largest turn out with 820 members, followed by Guthrie with 228, Chandler with 213, and Perry with 142.
All three bylaw amendments passed. 75 percent of members voted in favor of the first amendment changing the joint membership language from husband and wife to married couple.
Ninety-one percent of members voted in favor the second amendment which changed the annual meeting timeframe from the spring to anytime throughout the year. Ninety-one percent of members in favor of the third amendment, which added an additional trustee qualification.
“The board of trustees is pleased with the record turnout at this year’s Annual Meeting,” said Bill Davis, Central Board President. “We would like to thank all the members who came out and voted.”
