The Central Community Foundation board recently approved a grant of $1,600 to Stillwater Girls,Inc. of Stillwater, Oklahoma. The funds will help cover the cost of updating facilities at Camp Stapley.
Stillwater Girls, Inc. is a non-profit created in 1967 to support Girl Scout activities and events held at Camp Stapley and The Lodge in Stillwater. Camp Stapley not only hosts area Girl Scout Troops, but also Boy Scouts of America, church groups, organizations and family reunions, and in 2018 welcomed approximately 1,500 visitors. The support from Stillwater Girls, Inc. at Camp Stapley provides numerous activities that help groups explore the outdoors while learning new skills.
The Central Community Foundation is a charitable organization established by Central Rural Electric Cooperative to administer a program called Operation Round Up®. The Central Community Foundation makes grants available to individuals and organizations throughout Central’s service area from the money donated by Central members who choose to round up their electric bill to the nearest dollar each month.
