Power Supply Update, February 19, 2021
We are excited to share that our power provider has notified us they are no longer concerned about implementing any load curtailment initiatives or rolling blackouts as their total system peak has returned to normal operating standards.
Although we were put on notice early Tuesday morning to prepare for such initiatives, we are fortunate these drastic measures did not have to be implemented as system peaks reduced naturally and the system held. We are happy to report Central members were not impacted by the rolling blackouts.
We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all our members who made efforts to minimize energy use and help avoid strategic outages during this historic event. Our thoughts and prayers remain with some of our sister cooperatives and other utilities across the state who were not as fortunate and were affected by rolling blackouts, as well as our Texas neighbors.
