Now is your chance to experience the second cooperative principle, democratic member control, by choosing your district’s representation on the board of trustees.
Members in districts 2, 3 and 4 have the opportunity to file as a candidate for trustee. Interested candidates must file a Notice of Candidacy in person during regular business hours at Central’s office during the following filing periods:
- District 2: August 20-25, 2021
- District 3: August 11-16, 2021
- District 4: August 27-September 1, 2021
Members in districts 2, 3 and 4 will receive a postcard with additional information in the mail. To learn more about Central’s democratic process, visit MyCentral.coop/bylaws.
The district elections will be a drive-thru format. If the incumbent is the only candidate to file, the district election will be canceled, and the incumbent will serve another term per the cooperative bylaws. The district election dates and locations are:
- District 2: September 9, 2021 in Carney
- District 3: August 31, 2021 in Perry
- District 4, September 16, 2021 in Guthrie
Members can find out which district they reside in by visiting MyCentral.coop/districts or by calling our office at 405-372-2884.
The incumbents for districts 2 and 3, Stu Preston and Carol Dvorak, have expressed their intentions to run for another term. District 4 trustee, Len Tontz, has announced his retirement from the board.
