85th Annual Meeting set for Oct. 1
Central Rural Electric Cooperative’s 85th annual meeting is returning to a community near you in the drive-thru format!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 1 at one of these convenient locations:

215 Fairgrounds Rd., Guthrie - Noble County Fairgrounds
1 Ivanhoe St., Perry - Payne County Expo Center
4518 Expo Circle E, Stillwater
You will have the opportunity to drive-thru the annual meeting to vote on two bylaw amendments, visit with Central employees and board members, and be entered for prize drawings. Drive-thru anytime between 3 and 7 p.m. at one of the four locations.
Attendees will receive a $10 bill credit on their December bill and a $20 restaurant gift card to be used by Oct. 31. This year’s attendance gift will be a Central branded 2-gallon bucket! Prize winners will be announced on Central’s website and social media on Wednesday, October 2.
One vote per membership. If you have multiple memberships, such as a residence and a business, a separate voting delegate for each membership must be present.

Bylaw Amendments
Proposed Amendment #1
Synopsis: Clarify the length of a trustee term and outline the staggered terms. The amendment also removes language pertaining to trustee elections in 2015-2017.
Article IV: Trustees
Section 2. Tenure of Office. Each Trustee shall be elected at a district Member meeting held in the district he/she will represent, by and from the Members of the district, to serve until the conclusion of the annual meeting in his or her third year in office or until his or her successor shall have been selected and shall have qualified. No Trustee shall serve any more than a total of four (4), three-year terms.
Trustees shall be elected to three-year staggered terms.
• Districts 1 and 7 shall be elected in the same year.
• Districts 2, 3 and 4 shall be elected in the same year.
• Districts 5 and 6 shall be elected the same year.
Proposed Amendment #2
Synopsis: Combine the secretary and treasurer offices of the board of trustees and update the responsibilities of the position.
Article VI: Officers
Section 6. Secretary/Treasurer. The Secretary/Treasurer shall be responsible for:
(a) seeing that all notices are duly given in accordance with these bylaws or as required by law;
(b) in general, performing all duties incident to the office of secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him/her by the Board of Trustees.
(c) in general, performing all duties incident to the office of treasurer and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him/her by the Board of Trustees.
