Central Rural Electric Cooperative had record attendance at its 82nd Annual Meeting held Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021. Drive-thru voting occurred at four locations across the service area. A quorum was surpassed with 1,817 members in attendance. Stillwater had the largest turnout with 1,035 members, followed by Chandler with 318, Guthrie with 288, and Perry with 176.
All three bylaw amendments passed. Amendment 1 removed the requirement of written membership application to allow for a more simple and convenient experience for new members signing up for service. Amendment 2 provides more flexibility in meeting attendance and voting requirements at member meetings. Amendment 3 entitles members to capital credits regardless of membership length as long as they are in good standing with the cooperative and do not have long-term debt.
“The three bylaw amendments passed overwhelmingly,” said Carol Dvorak, Central Board President. “We would like to thank all the members who participated in the annual meeting.”
Members are encouraged to use their $20 meal card before the end of the month as the cards expire on Oct. 31, 2021.
