Luther High School Band Receives Grant

The Community Foundation of Central Electric Cooperative board recently approved a $5,600 grant to Luther High School Band, which will help pay for travel expenses for the band students to perform at the Liberty Bowl Game.

The Luther High School Band’s 30 students will travel to Memphis, Tenn., to participate in a nationally-televised half-time performance at the Liberty Bowl Game at the end of this year. Students will perform with a professional musician guest artist during half-time, in addition to marching down the historic Beale Street in the Liberty Bowl Parade.

The Community Foundation of Central Electric Cooperative, a board independent of Central Electric Cooperative, administers a program called Operation Round Up®. The Community Foundation makes grants available to individual projects in the Central service area. Visit www.MyCentral.coop and click on the “Community” tab located at the top of the page for more information about the Community Foundation.
